Big Maggy's Black Friday Goes On & The SSP Arrives!

The SSP goes live from January and gives our customers the opportunity to pre-book a 6-monthly service/maintenance slot for their bike or bikes. This guarantees you a slot in our diary for the year every 6 months, which can be used or 'kicked down the road' if not needed. There is no fee to automate the SSP and receive reminders. We strongly recommend taking up the SSP.
For as long as any of us can remember, we have operated on a simple reactive model of service booking. You call us, we check the diary, confirm the next slot available and your name is scribed in to the system. However, as many of you will have experienced, the next slot can often be somewhat further down the line than both you and we may have hoped for! At busy times, it can be 2 months! Let’s be honest, it’s 2024, that’s not great for either of us and there is a better way.
From January onwards, we will be shifting to a new process. The Big Maggy’s ‘Scheduled Service Plan’ will work like this:
- We add you to the new SSP subscriber group
- This group will have services automatically booked in at 6 monthly intervals
- We will convey the next booking date to you at the conclusion of the last service
- We shall send you a reminder a few days before.
Simples!
No Subscription Fees
There is no subscription fee and there is no obligation to use the service slots, but this way, you have a guaranteed 6 monthly slot. We feel this will prevent you reaching breaking point with your bike and remove the need for ‘urgent service slot’ requests, which are tough to find in an already fully booked calendar. If you want a quarterly slot, that’s fine too.
If your service reminder arrives and you don’t need it or cannot make it, you can simply respond through the App and request the ‘can is kicked down the road’ a few weeks and we will amend. You can use the slots for general service work or smaller requests.
What happens if you are not on the Service Plan?
Don’t panic, if you are not on our Service Plan, we will absolutely welcome you to book in for a service, the lead time will simply fluctuate as per before. This may well be a suitable option for you if you are a fair-weather cyclist or simply not in a rush. If this is the case, then we are at your service!
For our more regular customers however, we will strongly encourage you to move to the ‘SSP’.
